When it comes to reishi mushroom tinctures, there are two very different approaches used across the industry - and the difference matters.

Method 1: Re-diluted extract tinctures (the most common approach). This is how the majority of reishi mushroom tinctures on the market are made.

In this method, a company:

1) Purchases a finished reishi mushroom extract powder
2) Mixes that powder with a liquid base (often alcohol and water)
3) Filters or strains the mixture
4) Sells the resulting liquid as a “tincture”

While this may look like a tincture on the label, it’s essentially a re-diluted extract. The process is not designed to preserve the full integrity of the original extraction, and much of what made the extract effective in the first place is diluted or lost along the way.

This approach is popular because it’s fast, cheap, and easy to scale - which is why it’s so widely used.

Method 2: True liquid extraction tinctures (our approach). This is the method we use at Antioxi - and it’s far less common.

Instead of starting with a powdered extract, the reishi mushroom:

1) Goes through the full extraction process in liquid form
2) Is never dried or powdered
3) The extracted liquid - containing the mushroom’s naturally occurring compounds - is then carefully carried forward
4) This liquid extract is blended into the final tincture format, with the appropriate liquid base

In other words, the tincture is built from the extraction itself, not recreated afterwards.

This approach maintains the integrity of the extracted compounds and results in a reishi tincture that is true to its purpose - a liquid format designed to preserve what was extracted, not dilute it.
